Match your AdSense to your website:
You want your AdSense ads to appear as seamless as possible. Blend every aspect of AdSense ads to the theme/template of your website. Remember to remove the border of your Ads. Make your Ads as a part of your page. DO NOT make it too attractive that will tell people that it is an Ads. Try to insert it also in your Ads in your posts.

Eg: if your web site has a white background and the default color of your links is blue you will want to remove the border from your AdSense, make the background white, choose either a large rectangle as your ad format instead of a skyscraper or banner, because large rectangle is the best Ads format ever! It gets the most CLICKS!

Placement:
The place you put the AdSense ads is just as important. Take not of the Tips below:

•The more white space/empty space around your ads the better
•The closer to the top of the page the better.

The good news are:
1. We can 3 link units on our site(s)/blog(s).
2. As usual 3 AdSense for Contents on each pages.
3. A maximum of 2 Google AdSense for search boxes may be placed on a page.
4. Up to 2 referral units from each referral product or offering may be displayed on a page.
5. No More MFA(Made For AdSense) sites.

The bad news are:
1. The AdSense Ads are only allowed on Content-based-pages.
2. No AdSense code may be integrated into a software application. (So, you can't test your websites in your websites building softwares.)
3. No Google ad may be placed on pages published specifically for the purpose of showing ads, whether or not the page content is relevant. (Is this means DOOM for personal blog with AdSense Ads?)

Recently, I'm researching about "How to get traffic to blog?". I tried a lot of stuff including articles submission, changing my blog's template, writing more contents, links exchange campaign, Alexa Train Campaign, and a lot more. I found that it is not a simple task to get traffic to blog by doing all the stuff stated. Although all the stuff I had done doesn't get me good traffic, it gives me a good idea on how to get traffic to my blog.

Some effective steps which is proven to be able to get plenty of great traffic to blog everyday!
1. Joining Technorati:
Technorati is a big online community. It has about 71 millions of blog in their directory. This is a good number for Technorati and a "Good News" for us. We can join Technoratin for Free and ping our blog everytime we update our blog. Our blog will appear at Technorati and thus help you to get a lot of traffic. Besides, you can make good use of the "Tags" function in Technorati. This "Tags" can help to classified your blog. People can easily find your blog using this "Tags".

2. Ping every posts using Pinging Services and Articles Submission:
I found an interesting discovery on the internet-- more pinging services besides Project Petaling Street. The best thing of all the pinging services I found is that they offer Free Service. One of the very good pinging service I found is Slashdot.org. This website offer good pinging service (Articles Submission). It is a website having very high Google Page Rank, PR9. This means that it is getting a lot (Really a lot) of traffic. So, you can submit or ping your post to their site and you might have the chance to get some very Good traffic to your site.

Another good source of traffic is "Blog Carnival". Blog Carnival is also a Free service. You can "Submit" your blog at Blog Carnival under specific Carnival. You can choose a carnival that suit your post and submit it to them. Blog Carnival has a big collection of articles and blogs. You can get targetted traffic to our site very easily from this site. This is because Blog Carnival has a lot of carnivals for you to choose from.

3. Digg It-- Join Digg:
Digg is another big online community. There are plenty of news in Digg. You too can join and it's Free too. Join Digg and submit your stories/articles. People in Dig community will come across your articles and can give you Diggs and comments. If your articles are very good, they can "Blog It" at their site. This can help you get traffic but you need to REMEMBER to include your links in your posts.

4. Reddit:
The small "Robot face" picture at the left hand site of my blog under the "Bookmark" button is Reddit. It is a PR7 site. It is also a big community that you can submit your articles to it. You can visit it at Reddit.com. You can see a lot of posts there. they community is very active and they like to leave comments to your posts. Join it for Free and be active. You can watch your traffic grow.

5. Leaving Comments in Blogs:
Leaving comments in a lot of blogs. You must remember to give them good impression and give opinion sincerely. If possible, don't insult and don't give negative comments. Make friends with them and they will become your constant traffic.

6. Configure your Profile:
You should configure your Profile in all the communities you join. You can find some place to fill in your blog's address. Fill in all your information in your Profile. Some people like to read others profile and here is a chance to get those people to your site/blog.

Apply all these step and you can see the Massive Traffic coming to your blog/site everyday!!!

Ads Location:
"the middle, above the fold location perform best." Besides, if you have an article page with a long body of text, the bottom of that article is actually pretty successful.

Ads Formats:
The top three formats are the 336x280 ; the 300x250 medium rectangle; and 160x600 wide skyscraper. Additionally, wider ads formats are doing better than the other ones and the reason is that they actually take up fewer lines. With every additional line, you have a chance of losing that interested user. This means that Ads with fewer lines have higher success.

Ads Colors:
Pick colors that BLEND well with the site. Matches the background color and compliments the site. Make them feel like a part of the site. They give an example where a customer went from blended background to yellow, and clicks dropped 65%. This is what I always stress a lot. PAY MORE ATTENTION!!!

Ads Blindness:
Try not to make the colors stick out too much, readers may immediatly identify them as Ads and NOT even look at them. Also frequent readers may stop reading Ads so you could alternate positioning and colors to get their attention. The more you BLEND Ads in with the site, the less chance that ads blindness will occur.

Experiment:
this was a big theme in the webinar echoed by all experts. Use channels to test different colors, positioning, and formats to find out what works best. They show that you can more than double your revenue just by finding the right color, position, format combo.
Image Ads:If you want to maximize revenue they recommend turning them on. I personally disable them because according to other reports, Text Ads work better than Image Ads. Image Ads seem like you are telling user "I'm an Ads". So, it is NOT GOOD. You may increase your CPC, but you will probably decrease impressions over time.

Link Units:
Don't take up much space, and allows the user to refine what they're interested in. So if they may not be interested in specific ads on your page, they might be interested in a particular topic, and by clicking on a link unit and a link in the link unit, they'll be able to specify that they're interested in that specific topic and get a lot more options and variety on the ads that might appear. AdSense For Search:You can use this for your site search, and you get a percentage of ad clicks.

Focus on Content:
Yeap... Another important part is to focus on your contents. Adsense will index your site and find the keywords of your posts. Then, suitable Ads that suit your post will appear.
Don't click on your own ads:NEVER CLICK on the Ads your own. It is too risky because if Google finds out, your account will be terminated and you will be banned from applying Adsense FOREVER.

Impression Counter:
